Here’s a few FAQ’s  that you may be thinking about before joining The Job Shack. If you do have any other enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us via the ‘Contact’ tab.

A: The Job Shack is an Introductory Service that provides a service to all its Menbers to help them find employment in the NT and Australia wide. We offer unlimited use of our services and set you up to ultimately find work

Yes, we like to know our members and so for this we ask that you be in Darwin and meet with us beforehand.

We operate on a face to face basis, therefore we like to conduct the meeting and meet you all prior to signing up. We explain how The Job Shack works and how we will assist your time in Darwin. Although there is a sign up fee, to attend the meeting is completely FREE! So come and listen to what we offer and then you can decide if The Job Shack is for you.

Unfortunately The Job Shack is an Introductory Service so we therefore cannot guarantee a job in any given time scale. We do however give you the best support and advice to get you set up to find work.

The Northern Territory is great for getting second year visa work as the whole Territory classifies as a remote location, this means that there is many more options for job roles that will qualify you for your second year visa. (Only specified work roles qualify for your visa)

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee anyone work as we an Introductory Service that gives you all the tools to find work. The season in The NT always changes and jobs come and go so fast due to a high turnover. We like you to be proactive in finding work and will assist you where possible. We operate on a 100% honesty policy for work opportunities, if we do not believe that you will be able to find you work we will let you know before you sign to be a member. We work with many other recruitment agencies around the city which gives you extra opportunities whilst looking for work.

No as from the minute you sign up as a member we are helping you, we do not guarantee any of our members a job but we do access and alter your resume, offer discounted training courses, discounts on accommodation and travel and much more.

There are NO hidden costs included in your membership or package, if you would like to do the White card course or RSA then you will have to pay for these on your own behalf. 

Yes, The Job Shack is open all year round.

No, we strictly stick by Immigration rules, therefore if you do not have a valid Working Holiday Visa, Student Visa or are a Permanent Resident we cannot sign you up. All visas will be checked upon signing up to become a member or buying a package deal.

The Job Shack does not offer any insurance to our Members as this should be dealt with between Employee and the Employer when commencing work. Check out The NT Worksafe website for more information. If in any unfortunate instances where an accident may of occurred, this must dealt with directly with the Employer as The Job Shack will not be liable.

The Job Shack is an Introductory Service, meaning we never have any involvement with wages or earnings from Employers. This should be dealt with between the Employee and Employer directly. The Job Shack will never require Bank Details, Tax File Numbers, Superannuation etc. as we do not require them.
